T’keelya Bubbly Sangria

T'keelya Bubbly Sangria

Okay. So I was hoping that my first recipe would NOT be an alcoholic beverage, but a couple lovely co-workers of mine wanted a recipe to try this weekend, and since I already have written this down, I figured, why not? Señor Bacchus would approve of this light & refreshing summer cocktail.

1 bottle of sparkling white wine (or sparkling Prosecco, or Cava… nothing crazy expensive. I usually use Yellow Tail Bubbly White. It’s delish!)
1 cup of white tequila (I like Sauza Silver)
1-2 cups (depending on how diluted you want it) of sprite if you want it sweet / club soda if you don’t
1 pear
1 fuji apple
1C white grapes
1 lemon
1 lime
1 orange

1. Combine prosecco, tequila and soda of choice in a pitcher. Cut the citrus fruits in half lengthwise. Squeeze half of the fruit into the pitcher (careful of seeds!) and slice the remaining halves into half-moons. Toss ’em in! Core and slice the pear and apple and half the grapes. Throw ’em in too.

2. Stir gently to combine. You don’t want to deflate your bubbles!

3. Serve it immediately with a couple of ice cubes*.

4. Don’t drive anywhere. For reals. This delicious bevvie will totally sneak up on you!

*If it’s a fancy get-together I like to throw raspberries, blackberries and/or mint leaves in the ice cube tray (one in each tray compartment), fill with water and freeze. These will keep indefinitely so you can freeze them, throw them in a baggie and keep them for any beverage that needs a little frou-frou added to it.
